Large-Format Desk Mats

Technical cybersecurity cheat sheets covering Active Directory, Azure, and Cypher query syntax redesigned as large-format desk mats for print, brought up to brand at 90×40cm.

Case Study

The Challenge

The content — specialized syntax, domain-specific icons, and notation conventions with no room for error — was entirely outside my domain. Source files had formatting problems that made them unusable as-is, and print quality concerns around font weight and color contrast had to be resolved before anything went to the printer. Every technical element had to be exactly right, and I had no way to verify accuracy independently.

The Response

I named the knowledge gap directly and early, so the client knew where their expertise was needed and could review accordingly. I flagged every uncertain element specifically rather than guessing, rebuilt broken source content by hand when the import was unusable, and proactively increased font sizes and boosted color contrast to address print legibility before the client raised it.

The Result

Three print-ready desk mats delivered across PDF, PNG, and SVG formats. The client sent photos the morning the pads arrived from the printer — technically precise, visually sharp, and in active daily use with the team.

In technical industries, the cost of getting it wrong isn't just aesthetic, it's credibility.
